Our Approach

The company’s approach to environmental monitoring arose from the need to better integrate new hydropower projects in the Aosta Valley. From the very beginning, the company chose to rely on direct field surveys to determine the actual water availability, avoiding reliance solely on theoretical models. This approach has led to a significant investment in the development of environmental monitoring activities, with particular attention to the accuracy of flow measurements and the definition of rating curves.

The company specializes in the installation of stations for measuring water levels in rivers and streams, and in the subsequent correlation between the recorded level and the flow rate in the riverbed. Thanks to extensive experience in the sector, Blu Energie guarantees precise and reliable measurements, supporting environmental monitoring activities and hydrological studies across the region.

Since 2019, Blu Energie has obtained certification of its activities in compliance with international standards ISO 9001:2015 for quality management, ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management, and ISO 45001:2018 for health and safety at work. These certifications demonstrate the company’s ongoing commitment to maintaining high technical, organizational, and environmental standards.

Blu Energie’s technicians have developed advanced expertise and use high-precision instruments to measure liquid flow rates in streams, ensuring extremely accurate and reliable data. The company also performs checks and calibrations of Minimum Vital Flow releases, essential to ensure compliance with environmental requirements for hydropower plants. Activities also include the correlation between flow rates and imagery, as well as environmental analyses of hydromorphological, physicochemical, and biological parameters. Beyond hydrology, the company is also active in photogrammetric analyses, in the creation of digital terrain models, and in verifying the functionality of fish ladders.

Since 2025, Blu Energie has been awarded the contract to carry out liquid flow measurements as part of the monitoring network of the Functional Center of the Autonomous Region of the Aosta Valley. This project includes the measurement of flows in the main regional water bodies, with the objective of updating and improving the water-resource monitoring network throughout the Aosta Valley.

Blu Energie also handles the design and hydrological feasibility studies for the construction of storage basins, thus contributing to sustainable development and the efficient management of water resources.
